All the band except me were from Virginia Minnesota. I got the job (singing) from an ad in Rolling Stone! I was in the band for six months in 72. We had horrible equipment and my voice was almost shot when I quit. I did enjoy it though and liked living in Omaha. If anyone is interested I havbe a C.D. on CDBaby. Is by Sonny Carter. My girlfriends and I were HUGE RUMBLES fanatics starting in 1986 and followed you guys around Omaha. I didn't know that Todd was working at The Oak Creek Inn as a front desk/night auditor when I met him. He worked for Charles, the bar manager. My girlfriends and I would get there by 8pm to be ready for you 9 pm show and party till the bar closed! I was just checking your website and it is fantastic! I was hoping you were playing this weekend at Ameristar, however, I am going to try and get us to your next adventrure at the Ameristar to relive those AWESOME, amazing 80's! To this day when I hear the music you guys played on the radio, it takes me back! Those were the days! We even have some pictures of some of our wild nights partying with the Rumbles! You impacted our lives so very much! I just wanted to say thanks for the memories and to let you know that as we celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary March 11 and our 18th anniversary of meeting at the Crazy Horse on March 12, 1987, you turned my friends into "our friends" and we enjoyed MANY nights watching, dancing, and just being well entertained by your group! They also played 5 doors down from my home in Storm Lake Iowa at the Cobbelstone Ballroom. Bob Davis always refered to the band as the juke box band, because they had every song and every note down just right. Each song sounded just like the original. At our age I hate to say keep it up, just keep playen that great music. Your the best I've ever heard. |

| Comments: | Saw the show at Raccoon Ridge Music Hall in Stuart, IA on 9/24/04. Absolutely flawless sound (we could actually even carry on a conversation while you were playing), remarkable musicianship, and outstanding showmanship. Vocals and instrumentals were dead-on on every song. If you haven't seen the Rumbles before, you simply must get to one of their shows as soon as you can. It's a clean show, but still exciting and rambunctious. They're true professionals who really know how to please a crowd. And best of all, they don't spend five minutes dinking around between songs...their flow from one song to another is seamless, and they just keep going and going and going...you expect to see the Energizer bunny walking across the stage! Can't say enough good things about this band. In this day and age of talentless "musicians" who scream as loudly as they can and blow you away with sound so loud it makes your insides ache, it's a true pleasure to see a group of talented MUSICIANS who really care about their craft and its presentation. Each member of the band has their own unique style, and it all goes together in one FABULOUS show. You've just got to seem them! LONG LIVE THE RUMBLES!!! |

My dad's band got inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, which is the first time I heard Jezebel...they play it to honor the Rumbles..you were a band they really looked up too. The name of the band is The Fabulous Traidmarx (my dad is the drummer)..they went there seperate ways and hadn't seen each other in 30 years!! Now they have been playing together again since 2001...mostly in NW Iowa, but they have also been to Waterloo, Ankeny, Guttenburg and up near Minneapolis! I understand and appreciate everything that goes into any bands shows!! I know it's alot of work that doesn't just end when the gig is over. Keep up the good work...we hope to hear you again soon! |

My dad's band got inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, which is the first time I heard Jezebel...they play it to honor the Rumbles..you were a band they really looked up too. The name of the band is The Fabulous Traidmarx (my dad is the drummer)..they went there seperate ways and hadn't seen each other in 30 years!! Now they have been playing together again since 2001...mostly in NW Iowa, but they have also been to Waterloo, Ankeny, Guttenburg and up near Minneapolis! I understand and appreciate everything that goes into any bands shows!! I know it's alot of work that doesn't just end when the gig is over. Keep up the good work...we hope to hear you again soon! |

| Comments: | I started scrapbooking in 2002 and decided to do one entire book on the rock concerts I have attended in St. Louis. Then I decided to go back a little further and start with the band that started it all off and will always be the most special to me—The Rumbles. I am originally from outside a little town in Iowa called Rembrandt. When we were young, my parents would take us to the lakes to go camping at Green Acres on the weekends. My father would often take us across the lake in our boat to Arnold’s Park. It had to be the summer of 1967. My younger sister and I were having fun at the amusement park when a couple of cute guys started talking to us by the Roof Garden where a van was being unloaded. The four of had sodas at one of the small restaurants. The two guys ended up being Rich Clayton and Joe Brunnworth and they invited us to your show that evening. On the way back to the Roof Garden, we spotted our mother and my sister and I begged her to please let us come back that evening to hear your band. She could see the excitement in our eyes and finally said yes. We thanked Rich and Joe and went on our way. We were walking on clouds. As promised, my sister and I were able to come back that evening and listen to The Rumbles. What a great time we had. I can’t even explain it. I was only 15/16 at the time and this was a really big deal. You guys were so good!!!! I remember Rich sang, I’m a Man. Whenever you guys played in the area, I always tried to attend. I always got to say hello to Rich and that meant so very much to me. One evening at Cobblestone in Storm Lake, Iowa, he came and sat with me in one of the booths while the band was on a break. There were a few other kids attending from my small town, and they all came by to say hello while I was visiting with Rich. I was in seventh heaven. Even, after he left the band, I did not miss one of your performances until I left to attend St. Louis University in 1969. I have a few pictures that I took of your group to put in my scrapbook, and I started searching the web to see if I could find a website. Could I have permission to use some of the history of the band from this site for my pages? Would you by chance have any small memorabilia from the “old days” that you might consider selling that I could put on a page—like a guitar pick or a drum stick? Something from the band would make my pages so meaningful. I have been trying to find a memory button from one of the scrapbook stores, so I can record the first part of Jezebel onto it, so that whenever the button is pressed in the book, the song will play. | Comments: | I was a childhood friend of Jim....He went to school in Malvern IA until 8th grade. I had recently tried to find out what he was doing but I had not seen him since 1968. After he moved, college and other things I did not know where he went.....I was sad when I heard of his death and ironically, he was closer than I had thought in Council Bluffs and playing with you guys. I had seen you in the 70's last time 1974 in Malvern at the Fair dance. The set was great that night (Aqualung, Stairway to Heaven, whiter shade of pale, I'm a man......). I knew of Jim's talent as we shared musical interests and took piano lessons from the same teacher in Malvern.... He will be missed.... My thoughts and prayers go to his family and children. They were and are without a doubt the best cover band I've ever heard! They used to do all the Hollies, Beach Boys, 4 Seasons tunes that were way too vocally challenging for most bands. I'm glad to see that they're still at it. |

| Comments: | What's 2710? What happened to all the old guestbook entries? To sum it up, I will say that some of my funnest experiences were Rumbles concerts. The chicks are hot, the music's good, and the stagehands are fun to hang out with. Not everybody gets this priveledge, unfortunately. | Comments: | These guys rock!! Actually I am being serious - this band puts on a great show and a "Rumbles dance" is probably the most entertaining, fun thing to do in the midwest. Those alcoholic, womanizing roadies they have is another story...I don't know about them boys... |
